Terms of use of the MyHSY service
These terms of use apply to the MyHSY service (hereinafter referred to as ”Service”) provided by the Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority (hereinafter referred to as ”HSY”), the purpose of which is to enable contract customers to view their own customer and contract information as well as to communicate with customer service. The use of the Service requires accepting these terms of use.
HSY grants the user the limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service specified in these terms of use. The right is granted to a consumer user only for the user’s personal use and to a corporate user only for the internal use of the entity in question. The user may not use the Service for commercial purposes.
1. Access rights to the Service
The use of the Service requires a valid customer relationship. The access rights are personal and linked to the user’s authentication.
- Private customer: You can log in through strong electronic authentication (for example, Suomi.fi authorisation). A private customer can authorise someone else to act on their behalf through official authorisation.
- Corporate customer: You can log in either through strong authentication or by using a separate username and password. A corporate customer can hand over the access rights to a third party either through official authorisation or through the mandatory main user assigned to the company through the Service’s internal access management.
The separate username and password of the corporate customer are personal and may not be used as general usernames or shared. The user is responsible for storing their logins securely and ensuring that they will not be disclosed to third parties.
2. Content of the Service
The information presented in the Service is based on the customer information in our system. We strive to keep the information up-to-date and accurate.
- You can update your contact information in the Service.
- If you notice any errors in the information or need to make changes to the contract information, you can use the forms in the Service or contact our customer service via the message function.
3. Data protection and processing of personal data
The processing of personal data complies with the valid data protection legislation and HSY’s privacy statement. The Service only processes data that is necessary for the use of services and the management of the customer relationship.
We collect and process personal data, such as contact information, contract and service information, payment information and communication information, for the purpose of managing the customer relationship and providing the Service. 4. Information security
The user of the MyHSY service understands that complete information security cannot be guaranteed in the online environment and online services. The user is responsible for the appropriate management of the information security of their own information systems and network connections.
HSY organises the information security of its Service in a generally acceptable and efficient manner and uses appropriate technical solutions to prevent unauthorised access to its information systems.
5. Responsibilities of the user
The user undertakes to use the Service in accordance with these terms of use and is responsible for ensuring that the information entered by the user is accurate and up-to-date. The user may not use the Service in violation of the law or these terms.
HSY has the right to prevent the use of the Service if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that the Service is being used in violation of these terms or the law.
6. Intellectual property rights
The content and presentation of the Service are protected by copyright. All rights, copyrights and other intellectual property rights to the materials included in the Service belong to HSY.
7. Usability of and changes to the Service
HSY strives to ensure that the Service is available continuously and without disruptions. However, HSY does not guarantee the uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. HSY is not liable for any damages caused by the use of the Service, any impediment to using the Service or any disruptions in the Service.
HSY reserves the right to change the content and terms of use of the Service. Significant changes will be communicated in connection with using the Service. Use of the Service after the changes is considered to be acceptance of the new terms.
8. Limitation of liability
HSY is not liable for any damages caused by the use of the Service, any impediment to using the Service or any disruptions in the Service. We are also not liable for any damages caused by the customer having handed over the access rights to a third party through authorisation or other access management.
9. Applicable law and settling disputes
These terms of use are governed by Finnish law. The primary aim is to resolve any disputes through negotiations. If no agreement can be reached, the disputes shall be settled by the District Court of Helsinki. Consumer customers have the right to request a recommendation from the Consumer Disputes Board to settle a dispute.
