Used for the impregnation of wood and as a moisture barrier in concrete, for example. Hazardous waste in liquid form Its reception is at hazardous household waste collection points. 

Chiseling waste containing creosote and old tar paper are also classified as hazardous waste. They are only received at the Kivikko Hazardous Waste Station (Mon–Fri from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.). The reception is also subject to a charge for households.
