Secondary waste management service

Companies and organisations may use the Kivikko hazardous waste station if they have a secondary waste management service agreement with HSY as required by the Waste Act.

Waste transportation document

Corporate customers must provide a waste transportation document for hazardous waste delivered to the station, as required by the Waste Act. The document may be electronic or paper-based.

How to proceed:

• Complete the waste transportation document. You can use the pre-filled example document as guidance.
• Send the electronic waste transportation document to the email address provided by the hazardous waste station.

Instructions for handling hazardous waste

• Keep hazardous waste preferably in its original packaging.
• Label every container and package with its contents.
• Keep hazardous waste separate from other waste.
• Do not mix different types of hazardous waste.
• Ensure that packages are tightly sealed and remain intact during transport.
• Familiarise yourself with legislation concerning the transport of dangerous goods and comply with all requirements. You may also arrange deliveries through companies licensed to transport and process hazardous waste.
• In dangerous goods transport, transport containers must comply with legal requirements.
• Records must be kept of hazardous waste, and a waste transportation document must be prepared for transport and retained for three years after signing.

 

Price list for the hazardous waste station

A fee according to the price list will be charged for waste delivered to the hazardous waste station.
