Pipe breakage in downtown area in Helsinki

The rupture of a main line in Helsinki caused pipe breakage in downtown area. Updated 1.2.2025 23.09: Fault over.

For the most part, the area’s water distribution is returning to normal. 

Water supply is cut off: Mechelininkatu 3a ja Pohjoinen Rautatienkatu 33.

Temporary water supply: Leppäsuonkatu 6 

The walls of the water pipes may release precipitate due to pressure fluctuations and changes in the flow directions of the water. If the water is brown or cloudy, water should be run from all the taps until it becomes clear again. If the water does not become clear after 10 minutes of running the taps, please inform HSY Water services’ fault-reporting service, tel. 09 1561 3000.
