Air quality in Lohja
You can examine the air quality or the concentrations of different air pollutants from various monitoring locations. The results are available as a graph or table. The tabs allow you to select which monitoring results you want to view. In the graphs, you can select one or more monitoring items that you want to view. The monitoring results are displayed hourly. You can select a day, week, or month as the reference period. The monitoring results are unverified hourly averages.
We monitor the general air quality of the Lohja city centre at an urban background monitoring station located away from busy streets. The concentrations of air pollutants measured at the monitoring site represent the level to which people are generally exposed in the city centre area. The monitoring in Lohja started at the beginning of 2009 at Nahkurintori Square, but the monitoring site was moved to the yard of the Harjula activity centre at Kullervonkatu 7 at the beginning of 2020. In Lohja, we monitor the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide and thoracic and fine particles as well as the weather.
