Waste Information

Sort the following packaging into carton recycling, among others:

  • cartons and boxes for dry products (cereals, flakes, biscuits, etc.)
  • paper bags for flour, sugar and flakes
  • cartons for liquid products (milk, juice, etc.). Loose caps should be sorted as plastic packaging, while attached caps may be left on the package.
  • carton packages for canned foods (tomatoes, beans, etc.)
  • carton packages with aluminium lining, such as juice cartons and certain food containers

Carton packages do not need to be rinsed. However, it is recommended to rinse milk cartons with cold water, for example, as milk residues may cause unpleasant odours when they sour.

Tip: You can collect carton packages at home in a paper bag and then take the full bag to a carton recycling collection point.

What to do:

  1. 1

Sort carton and liquid packaging made of carton, paper packaging and cardboard packaging for carton packaging collection.

  2. 2

Remove food scraps from the packaging. Recycle only empty packaging. Mould spoils the packaging and the material is no longer usable as cardboard.

  3. 3

Caps which come off of packaging are sorted into plastic packaging waste collection. It is not necessary to remove caps, staples or packaging tape attached to the packaging.

  4. 4

Flatten carton and cardboard packaging and pack them nested inside each other, so that they take up less space in the waste container.

Please note! Also flatten milk and juice containers, but do not nest them too tightly inside each other. The recycling process at the facility is more successful when these containers are packed slightly more loosely.
