Recycling methodsWaste Information
Expired medication (also liquids) can be returned to a pharmacy free of charge. Do not flush medication down the drain or throw them into a waste container!
Bring the following medicines in a transparent bag:
- loose tablets, capsules
- blister packs without a carton wrapper
- creams, sticks and liquid medicines in their own packaging
- inhalation powders and liquids
- transdermal patches and nicotine patches.
Please bring these separately from other pharmaceutical waste:
- drugs containing iodine
- mercury thermometers
- syringes and needles
- cytostatic agents in their original packaging.
For data security reasons, remove the instruction labels containing patient information from the medicine packaging.
