Where to take paper waste?

We accept confidential paper waste subject to a charge at the hazardous waste reception station next to the Kivikko Sortti Station. The paper is collected into a separate container and delivered to the hazardous waste treatment plant for disposal.

What is the collected paper used for?

The collected paper is delivered to a paper mill, where it is used to make new paper. Paper collected from households is used to make new paper for newsprint, while separately collected white office paper is used to produce soft paper, such as kitchen towels and bathroom tissue.
The manufacture of recycled paper saves energy and natural resources, as well as releasing fewer emissions into the environment.

Paper collection and utilisation are subject to producer responsibility.
