Easter advances the emptying of waste containers and closes the Sortti Stations

Easter will cause minor exceptions to waste management in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and Kirkkonummi. The emptying of waste containers in the week before Easter will take place one day earlier. The Koivukylä Sortti Mini Station will be closed on Sunday 20 April, but will otherwise serve during Easter. Other Sortti Stations will be closed during Easter.

We will exceptionally begin the Easter week waste container collections in the Helsinki metropolitan area and Kirkkonummi already on Sunday, April 13, and continue until Thursday evening. On Good Friday, April 18, our waste collection drivers will also pause for Easter, and no containers will be emptied on that day.

Waste container collections will resume on Saturday, April 19, following the regular schedule. Due to the holidays, the emptying of waste containers may be delayed by one day for some customers during week 16 and at the beginning of week 17.

Our customer service's telephone service will be closed during the Easter holidays from 18 to 21 April. Otherwise, our customer service will serve as usual.

Please make sure that the properties' gates are open

Especially in the city centre of Helsinki, there are properties that cannot be accessed on weekends or public holidays. We hope that the caretakers of these properties will make sure that the gates of the property will be open on Sunday 13 April and Monday 21 April in the same way as on normal weekdays.

The Koivukylä Sortti Mini Station will also serve on public holidays

Our Sortti Stations will be closed during Easter from Friday 18 to Monday 21 April. However, you can visit the Koivukylä Sortti Mini Station, which will be open during Easter as follows: 

• Thursday 17 April from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Friday 18 April 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Saturday 19 April 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Sunday 20 April closed
• Monday 21 April from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You can bring small household waste loads to the Sortti Mini Station, but it does not accept garden and construction waste.

Please also remember that all our Sortti Stations will be open on three Saturdays in spring: 26 April, 3 May and 10 May from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Kivikko Sortti Station will continue to be permanently open on Saturdays as of 26 April.
