The drinking water still needs to be boiled in eastern Espoo, Kauniainen, and Linnainen, Vantaa
The recommendation to boil water in the area continues. The disruption is due to a rupture in an aging main water pipe in Mäkkylä, Espoo. The leakage from the main water pipe has caused extensive disruptions in the water supply in eastern Espoo and the Kauniainen area north and east of Turunväylä, as well as in the Linnaisten area in Vantaa.
The recommendation to boil water continues. Properties in the area are not without water, and water distribution to properties is operational, but as a precaution, drinking water and water used for cooking must still be boiled for at least five minutes. The water is usable after cooling down from boiling. Water used in coffee and water heaters must also be boiled first. The recommendation to boi water continues until all results of the samples mandated by the health authorities are completed, and the water quality is confirmed throughout the area. We will provide further information on 21.2. at 7 am.
We have set up temporary water distribution points where you can get water to your own container. The temporary water distribution points are open all night. The water distribution points are located in Hämeenkylä at Auratie 2, in Espoo center at the station square at Asemakuja 4, and in Leppävaara on Uuno Kailaas street at the fire hydrant.
Water from areas that require the water to be boiled can still be used. Boil the water at least 5 minutes before using it to drink or to cook with.
