Build a woodshed

A good woodshed keeps the wood dry. Fitting into an urban yard in terms of its style, the Urban Woodshed is well ventilated, provides protection from rain and enables dry and drying wood to be separated from each other. A lock-up door reduces the risk of vandalism.

Urban Woodshed

The shed was designed by Jaakko Viertiö. This woodshed model won the Urban Woodshed design competition for Aalto University students. The jury especially appreciated the shed’s clear-cut shape, interesting batten structure that forms a double façade, and modularity. Several modules can be connected to each other depending on the size of the yard and your needs, allowing the shed to be used for a variety of storage purposes. The shed has a pleasant appearance into which the battening adds a fresh twist, and it goes well with many types of buildings. This shed fits even on a small plot. The shed can be landscaped to blend into the garden with vines. The Firewood woodshed

The woodshed was designed by Kristaps Sveisbergis. This woodshed model placed second in the Urban Woodshed design competition for Aalto University students. The woodshed received special praise from the jury for its modern, even poetic appearance, green roof and good floor ventilation. The two-door design enables, for example, shared use with a neighbour at the border of the plot or storage of dry firewood at one end and unseasoned firewood at the other.

Remember to check and take into account your municipality’s town plan provisions and fire safety regulations before building a woodshed.
