We will streamline the water treatment process at the Pitkäkoski water treatment plant and increase production capacity during 2020–2025. We made similar improvements at the Vanhakaupunki water treatment plant in 2015–2016. With these measures, we will improve the operational reliability of water services.

The renovation work at the Pitkäkoski activated carbon plant has been completed. After the plant is put into operation, we will continue to report on the water quality more frequent than usual throughout the spring. We will publish the results of our analyses on our website.

The change concerns the following areas:

  • Espoo: Northern Espoo, Greater Espoonlahti, Greater Kauklahti, Greater Leppävaara, Greater Matinkylä, Greater Tapiola, Old Espoo
  • Helsinki: southern sub-region, central sub-region, western sub-region, northern sub-region
  • Kauniainen
  • Vantaa: Aviapolis, Hakunila, Koivukylä, Korso, Myyrmäki, Tikkurila.

Next, we will renovate the Pitkäkoski ozone plant during 2022. The renovation of the ozone plant will not affect the quality of supply water.
