Recycling Ambassadors
Residents of Helsinki metropolitan area can apply to become Recycling Ambassadors in April. We will publish the application period soon. Fill in your details using the application form during the application period. All ambassadors need to live in a property where waste management is organised through shared waste containers. Selected ambassadors will be notified by email.

Introduction and orientation
Once accepted, you will receive instructions by email on your role as a recycling ambassador and link to the waste sorting info. You can review the materials independently but you have an option to join a Teams info session about the recycling ambassador role where you can ask any questions you may have. The info is held in Finnish and in English.

Distributing Waste Sorting Guides and Biowaste Bags to Neighbors
You will receive instructions by email on how to order waste sorting guides and biowaste bags for your neighbors from our brochure service. These materials will be delivered directly to your home via Posti. Once received, your task is to bundle and distribute the materials to your neighbors either through their mail slots or personally.

Rewards
After distributing the materials, you will receive a feedback survey by email. Once you’ve completed the distribution and responded to the survey, you will be rewarded with two Finnkino movie tickets, which will be sent to your email. In addition each ambassador receives 50 biowaste bags. Espoon Asunnot will also raffle an additional €500 budget for residental activities among all participating properties.

Optional Tasks
As a Recycling Ambassador, you can also take other actions to promote sorting in your building. We encourage ambassadors to collaborate with the building’s resident committee. For example, you can share recycling information using the building’s communication channels or report any issues related to waste rooms or bins.

Continuing as an Ambassador
You can subscribe our newsletter, where we share information about waste and sorting, as well as tips on our services and events. The newsletter also includes ideas for other voluntary ambassador activities.
Orientation for Recycling Ambassadors
We are organizing two optional Teams sessions that you can attend as a recycling ambassador. You will receive links to both sessions by email, and no prior registration is required.
In the Recycling Ambassador Info on Teams on September 16 from 17-17.45 PM, we will go over the role of a recycling ambassador in more detail and show you step-by-step how to order materials from our brochure service. During the info, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the ambassador role.
You can also familiarize yourself with the recycling ambassador's role and instructions independently.
We will also hold a general waste sorting training session on Teams on September 8 from 17-19 PM, where we will go through the waste management system in the Helsinki metropolitan area and share information about sorting household waste.
