We monitor the air quality of the city centre at Mannerheimintie 5. The results of the station describe the general air quality in the busy areas of Helsinki city centre.
At this monitoring station we measure, among others, the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide, particles of different sizes, black carbon, and ozone.
The results are presented through an air quality index that correlates the concentrations to their health effects. The index varies from good to very poor. When the air quality is poor (red colour), people sensitive to air pollutants may show some symptoms. The graph shows the air quality indices from the last 12 hours (unverified hourly values).
