We monitor air quality in the city area in the Kallio Sports Field. The results of this monitoring station describe the air quality of the residential areas in the inner city of Helsinki at a more general level.
At this station we measure, among others, the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide, particles of different sizes, black carbon, sulphur dioxide and ozone.
The results are presented through an air quality index that correlates the concentrations to their health effects. The index varies from good to very poor. When the air quality is poor (red colour), people sensitive to air pollutants may show some symptoms. The graph shows the air quality indice from the last 12 hours (unverified hourly values).
