South Harbour

In 2018, we measure the impact of harbour activities on the air quality in South Harbour. The monitoring station is located in Laivasillankatu between the Olympia terminal and the Makasiini Terminal.

At this monitoring station we measure the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide and fine  particles.

The results are presented through an air quality index that correlates the concentrations to their health effects. The index varies from good to very poor. When the air quality is poor (red colour), people sensitive to air pollutants may show some symptoms. The graph shows the air quality indices from the last 12 hours (unverified hourly values).
