Communication and dissemination
A logo and style have been created for public relations in the Julia 2030 -project. This stresses the common efforts of all of the partners involved. “Get down to business” and “Tools for climate action” are among the common core messages of the project.
A website sets out the aims of the project and monitors progress achieved in the work. The website is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. Most of its content will be published in English and all pages intended for residents will also be available in Swedish.
A brochure and poster (in Finnish, Swedish and English) for the Julia 2030 -project were completed in summer 2009. These resources facilitate presentations of the project in partner organisations, for example when launching eco-support work.
The project was presented at the SavExpo fair in September 2009, with a series of four Finnish language posters created to communicate the core messages of mitigating climate change in four project areas (public procurement, buildings, transport and waste management). The posters were distributed through eco-support persons to workplaces participating in the project.
The Julia’s Choice video (in Finnish, Swedish and English) was completed in October 2009. It was warmly received by the media, featuring on the website of the leading national daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat and in television and radio news broadcasting by the Finnish Broadcasting Company – YLE. The video was marketed to schools through a newsletter and at the Educa trade fair between 29 and 31 January 2010. Copies of the video on DVD have been borrowed frequently for use in teaching.
Training of eco-supporters began in Espoo and Vantaa at the end of 2009 and in Kauniainen, Kerava and Kirkkonummi in February 2010. There were 640 eco-supporters trained in the project.
