HSY's waste management organises the waste management for residential buildings and the properties of the public administration throughout the metropolitan area. It is responsible for the collection of recyclable materials and hazardous wastes, as well as providing the waste management regulations guiding the sorting of wastes.

Collection of batteries at HSY’s recycling points will end at the turn of the year

The collection of batteries at the HSY recycling points will end on 31 December 2011. HSY will continue to collect batteries and small accumulators free of charge in hazardous waste containers and collection vehicles as well as at Sortti stations and Munkinmäki waste station in Kirkkonummi.

Take your garden waste to the HSY Sortti stations

It is worthwhile composting the garden waste ensuing from the spring cleaning in your own garden. If this is not possible, take your garden waste to one of the Sortti stations run by HSY. Sortti stations are open on weekdays, from 7:00 to 21:00.
