Eco-support activity
Eco-support activity promotes environmentally responsible activities at the workplace. Eco-supporters are trained for working communities to guide and encourage workers towards eco-friendly behaviour.
Eco-support activities save energy and water, make waste-sorting more effective, and reduce the amount of generated waste. Environmental aspects are also taken into account in purchases and mobility.
640 eco-supporters were trained for Espoo, Vantaa, Kerava, Kirkkonummi and Kauniainen in the Julia 2030 project. A common programme and training materials were designed for basic training based on experience from the City of Helsinki.
Eco-supporters already trained in Helsinki received additional training in the use of climate calculators, when they participated in the project “Use of Public Premises”.
The networking of eco-supporters was promoted across municipal borders. The project arranged two common meetings for all eco-supporters in the region. Information concerning best practices at different worksites was distributed by means of municipal newsletters and website news.
